Marathon arrives in early March along with limited hardware

Studio Bungie has ended months of speculation and set a firm date for when the gates of their new sci-fi universe will open to the public. Marathon will storm onto the gaming scene on March 5, 2026.

Studio Bungie reacts to a massive data leak and officially confirms the release date of its highly anticipated title. The extraction shooter will hit store shelves as early as the beginning of March.

Bungie's marketing plans were disrupted by an unexpected incident when the complete game trailer appeared online earlier than planned. However, the studio's reaction was lightning-fast, and official channels subsequently confirmed that Marathon will indeed be released on March 5, 2026.

The game will be available from day one for owners of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and of course PC.

Part of the launch celebrations includes the start of pre-orders for a limited edition of accessories, beginning January 29. Players will be able to purchase a DualSense controller and a Pulse Elite wireless headset in a unique visual style that matches the game's aesthetic.

The range of available versions will satisfy both casual players and demanding collectors. The Standard Edition guarantees access to all future updates and rewards users for early purchase with the ZERO STEP bundle. This set includes a visual skin for the pistol, a weapon charm, and a sticker. A major highlight is the crossover with the Destiny 2 universe.

The more demanding audience will likely reach for the Deluxe Edition, which expands the content with a Premium Rewards Pass voucher and 200 units of SILK currency. However, the main draw of this version is the extensive collection of cosmetics from the MIDNIGHT DECAY set.
