Japanese company Konami has unexpectedly delighted retro gaming fans, releasing a comprehensive collection of classic titles without prior warning.

The bundle brings one of the most famous video game series in history, which defined the maze action genre, to modern screens.

The Return of the King of Explosive Fun and Nineties Nostalgia

PlayStation 5 owners can now play seven legendary installments of the Bomberman series in a single package. Japanese publisher Konami suddenly released the digital version of a comprehensive anthology of the famous series. Owners of PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and the new Nintendo Switch 2 consoles now have the opportunity to immediately step into the world of strategic bomb placement.

The main attraction of the new bundle is its generous content, which maps the golden era of this brand. The set includes the complete quintet of games from the Super Bomberman series, which originally debuted between 1993 and 1997 on the SNES console.

For European players, this is a significant event, as the collection also includes installments that were exclusively available on the Japanese market at the time of their creation.

However, fans of physical media will have to wait until summer. The publisher's official website does not yet allow direct pre-ordering of the boxed version, but its release date has been set for August 25, 2026. The price tag has been set at $19.99.

The bundle also includes bonus materials for true gaming history enthusiasts. Users can browse a gallery containing over 200 unique illustrations that map the visual evolution of characters and environments.
