Can you imagine a gaming device that could combine the systems of all well-known consoles? Well, you don't have to anymore, as one modder has successfully done just that.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the endless console wars finally ended? Well, some people do think about such things, and one of them decided to show how it could be done. A Chinese modder known as 小宁子 XNZ recently revealed a project that sounds like a joke at first glance: she merged all the major consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo) into a single "universal" device. But how on earth did she pull it off?

Design

The device, which the modder modestly named the Ningtendo PXBOX 5, might remind some hardware geeks of the famous "trash can" Mac Pro from 2013. It was this specific design that became the foundation for the unconventional cooling solution and the overall layout of the internal components.

How does it work?

But how did XNZ cram all three consoles into one box? According to her, she had to disassemble all three consoles down to their motherboards. She then mounted these boards in a triangular arrangement around a central aluminum structure. Heat dissipation is handled by a custom 3D-printed heatsink and a large fan at the bottom of the console that cools all components simultaneously. The entire setup is powered by a 250W PC power supply, which can run one console at full load while keeping the other two in standby mode. It’s also worth noting that XNZ preserved the portability of the Switch, a detail most technicians might have overlooked.

And how do you switch between the individual consoles? Very easily, using a large button on top of the console. System indication is aided by a front LED diode that cycles colors between blue (PlayStation), green (Xbox), and red (Nintendo).

Why was the project created?

XNZ herself admits that it was originally more of a joke, but it ultimately turned into a project that is not only technically impressive but also practically usable. At the same time, she sent a clear message to the gaming industry: "Stop fighting. Stop the console war." Thus, the Ningtendo PXBOX 5 is not just an impressive piece of modding, but also a reminder that players want to enjoy games regardless of the platform.

What if the console went on sale?

Now let's have a "prophetic moment" and try to predict a scenario where the console itself could be legally sold. Honestly, it would be much more expensive than all other consoles, but despite the increased price, it would be extremely sought after due to its features. Furthermore, with some retailers offering trade-in programs for individual consoles (such as Smarty in our region), the purchase could still end up being a great deal, leaving customers to only worry about the games and additional hardware (controllers).

And if you think I'm only saying this because I'd buy a Ningtendo PXBOX 5 myself, you're partially right. But I also know how most gamers think, and frankly, this console would save players a lot of hassle. Simply put, it's a dream come true for many gamers.
